Desperados Free the Party!

The dance floor is the place to be completely yourself, connect with others and make memories. Yet 4 in 5 young Belgians sometimes feel unsafe in nightlife, according to an iVox study in collaboration with Wel Jong (2023).

Desperados is committed to changing this with Desperados Free The Party! After successful tests at festivals, it is now time for clubs and pubs across Belgium to join in.

Regardless of your identity, sexual orientation, origin, age or differences, everyone has the right to fully enjoy nightlife. Desperados aims to make nightlife safer and more inclusive by collaborating with the organisations Wel Jong and Pixiels who helped us develop a training and house rules for bars and clubs, among other things.

Below are some concrete measures we are implementing:

1. Encouraging responsible alcohol consumption with Desperados Virgin 0.0%.

2. Providing a training to recognise inappropriate behaviour and respond appropriately. Download the training here.

3. Communicating that mutual respect is a core value of Desperados Free The Party. Respect our House Rules: be yourself, drink responsibly, consent is essential and discrimination will not be tolerated.

Le dancefloor est l'endroit parfait pour s'exprimer, se connecter aux autres et créer des souvenirs. Pourtant, 4 jeunes Belges sur 5 se sentent parfois en insécurité en soirée selon une étude iVox réalisée en collaboration avec Wel Jong (2023).

Desperados s’engage à changer ça avec le Desperados Dance Club ! Après avoir testé ce concept en festival, c'est maintenant au tour des clubs et cafés partout en Belgique de se joindre à nous.

Quelle que soit ton identité, ton orientation sexuelle, tes origines, ton âge ou tes différences, tout le monde a le droit de profiter pleinement en soirée. Desperados veut rendre les espaces de fête plus sûrs et inclusifs en collaborant avec les associations Wel Jong et Pixiels qui nous ont entre autres aidé à créer une formation et des house rules pour les bars et les clubs.

Ci-dessous quelques mesures concrètes que nous appliquons :

1. Stimuler la consommation responsable avec Desperados Virgin 0.0%.

2. Une formation pour reconnaître les comportements inappropriés et les gérer de la bonne façon. Télécharger la formation ici.

3. Communiquer que le respect mutuel est une valeur clé du Desperados Free The Party. Respectez nos Règles de la Maison : soyez vous-même, buvez de manière responsable, le consentement est essentiel et aucune forme de discrimination n'est tolérée.

Desperados engageert zich om hier verandering in te brengen met Desperados Free The Party! Na succesvolle tests op festivals, is het nu tijd voor clubs en cafés in heel België om mee te doen.

Ongeacht je identiteit, seksuele geaardheid, afkomst, leeftijd of verschillen, iedereen heeft het recht om volop te genieten van het nachtleven. Desperados wil uitgaan veiliger en inclusiever maken door samen te werken met de organisaties Wel Jong en Pixiels, die ons onder andere geholpen hebben bij de ontwikkeling van een training en huisregels voor bars en clubs.

Hieronder enkele concrete maatregelen die we toepassen:

1. Stimuleren van verantwoord alcoholgebruik met Desperados Virgin 0.0%.

2. Training om ongepast gedrag te herkennen en op de juiste manier te reageren. Download hier de training. 

3. Communiceren dat wederzijds respect een kernwaarde is van Desperados Free The Party. Respecteer onze Huisregels: wees jezelf, drink verantwoord, toestemming is essentieel en discriminatie wordt niet getolereerd.
